RedARETS is a network of nonprofit public institutions dedicated to health technology assessment in Argentina. Constituted by the ministries of health and national universities of the City of Buenos Aires, Province of Buenos Aires, Province of Neuquén, Province of Rio Negro, Province of Santa Fé and Province of Mendoza, and the national´s Health Services Superintendence. Our vision is to develop a public interjurisdictional sustainable cooperation system related to HTA in Argentina that allows the generation and diffusion of these type of assessments, share our resources, and offer our production to all decision makers, in order to obtain the most efficient and equitable health results. Created in 2012 in the province of Mendoza, our mission is to contribute to enhance the utilization of HTA developed in Argentina, equitable access to HTA and efficient application of this critical resource for decision making. The objectives of RedARETS are to:
- Stablish a cooperation framework and exchange of experiences and information
- Share and harmonize methodological tools
- Standardize HTA processes
- Generate and promote collaborative HTA projects
Since our creation we have:
- Held two annual presential meetings in different provinces of the country, offering training workshops on HTA, Evidence Based Medicine, Clinical Practice Guidelines, Economic Studies, Meta-analysis, among other issues.
- Harmonized methodological documents for declaration of conflict of interests, declaration of no commercialization, rapid response assessments and equity assessment in HTA
- Developed awareness actions on HTA for public and decision makers
- Shared our different types of products in a website
- Been incorporated officially to the American HTA network RedETSA in 2014, sharing our products in RedETSA website, taking part in virtual and presential meetings, webinars and training workshops
- Collaborated with other countries of MERCOSUR
- Taken part in HTAi meetings, subgroup of HTA in developing countries
- Conducted collaborative projects that won different grants
- Participated in several HTA national and international meetings (HTAi, ISPOR, Health Economics Association of Argentina, etc.)
- Offered a free course on HTA that was already done by more than 140 professionals that work on the public sector in different Latin-American countries (in the last 2016 and 2017 cohorts, RedETSA asked for 25 vacancies each year, that were granted to the technical teams of different countries)
- Organized our members in different areas of interest like editorial committee, ethics committee, Training and investigation.
